 New York Hustle
In
2002, I started writing, arranging & producing the "New York Hustle" taken from
the original "Hustle" that was a Grammy Award Winning tune written by the late
Van McCoy.
The "New York Hustle" is a positive
gesture that will prove to be uplifting and heartwarming to people everywhere.
My heart has led me to dedicate my version of "New York Hustle" to the victims
Post 9/11.
Van McCoy was born in Washington, DC on
January 6, 1940. Van McCoy wrote, arranged, and produced a host of hit
tunes for artists like Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Nancy
Wilson, and others. The Grammy Award Winning tune the "Hustle" propelled
him into a worldwide tour.
I'm honored to remake the "Hustle" by also
renaming it "New York Hustle" in honor of the Tragedy of 9/11.
"Van McCoy, rock the Hustle back in the day,
now Tony Whitfield flips the track in a different way."
