Tony Whitfield, a contemporary jazz artist, professional and entrepreneur of his own label, OASA Records, has his eyes on the prize. This masterful five-string bass guitarist writes, arranges, and produces music for all instruments; now that's TALENT!

Whitfield’s latest CD, "Pleasure Sensitive 2," embraces a myriad of artistic stylings and musical compositions. From the R&B flavor of "Baby Come Home," the upbeat melody of "Pleasure Sensitive 2," featuring a captivating bass solo, to the romantic ambiance of "Jarreau's Journey", they all meld together in seamless harmony. As one listener stated, it’s "music you can listen to all day!"

Whitfield pulled out the stops collaborating with brilliant national and international musicians such as Hiram Bullock, Jerry Hey, Gary Grant and Onaje Allan Gumbs. Listeners are exposed to these exceptional performers during their voyage with "Pleasure Sensitive 2."

Whitfield, known for his sincere and charming style, has earned countless praise from his listeners, peers and top performers. He attributes his love of music to his mentors, the Grammy Award winning Al Jarreau and jazz legend Ramsey Lewis. However, Whitfield's greatest asset remains his "vision for the music." This extraordinary gift allows him to see near and far the nuances that create phenomenal music, whether it’s in the studio or on stage. Stu Gardner, creator for the theme and incidental music for TV hits The Cosby Show and A Different World, inspired the composition for "Visions of Your Smile," from Whitfield’s first CD.

Tony's smooth jazz tunes entitled "42nd Street" and "Hold On" had been featured on Saturday mornings from 6 am - 8 am as background music during the Top 20 count down segment of DJ Arnold Smith's show featured on "WHUR 96.3 FM" Howard University Radio - Washington, D.C.
